The Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society is a charitable organization, whose mission is to preserve Craigdarroch Castle and bring its stories to life. Craigdarroch Castle is a designated National Historic Site with annual visitation of 140,000 and is open year round providing a wide range of visitor services to an international clientele.

 

FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - Posting open until filled

The Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society is searching for an experienced individual to fill a newly created position for a facility maintenance technician.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance, housekeeping and janitorial duties for all 4 Society properties and grounds. This position reports to the restoration manager and works closely with the operation manager to provide leadership in facility operations.

The ideal candidate possesses the skills necessary to support housekeepers in their duties, oversee proper maintenance and storage of supplies, equipment and machinery pertaining to maintenance, restoration and grounds keeping and assist with general rental property maintenance. Assisting with building security and alarm systems maintenance is also part of the duties.

Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and equipment maintenance is required as is extensive experience as a janitorial or maintenance worker. Please review the list qualifications here.

This is a union position with CUPE Local 3136. The annual wage is $49,920 and the probationary period is six months. Upon successful completion of the probationary period the Society offers health care benefits and has a group RRSP program.

RESTORATION TECHNICIAN - Job Posting has closed

Due to the imminent retirement of our long serving restoration technician, the Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society is searching for an experienced individual to fill this position.

The successful candidate will be tasked with assisting the restoration manager with the ongoing care of Craigdarroch Castle using established restoration and conservation procedures.

The ideal candidate possesses the skills necessary to perform or supervise restoration or repair on the interior and exterior of the museum building and works with the restoration manager to identify and recommend appropriate methods and procedures to achieve desired results.

The position requires above average problem solving and time management skills, good verbal and written skills, a strong desire to learn and the ability to deliver a quality product with a high degree of precision. There are currently several projects underway and more planned for the coming years. Please review the list qualifications here.
